Bird Watching -we have documented over 200 species of birds in CC.  We have several Bird Watching Tours on the Island.

Caye Caulker Mini Reserve -a protected forest area managed by the Caye Caulker branch of BTIA.

Creatures of the night and Stargazing Tour.

Diving - Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Blue Hole, Caye Chapel Canyons, Caye Caulker North Cut, Turneffe North and South.

Fishing -Guided Fishing by licensed fisherman to include: fly or Troll, drop, spin or cast fishing, deep sea fishing......

Glass bottom  Boat Tours - Tours to the Caye Caulker Mini Reserve (local reef) ...

•  • ATTRACTIONS IN CAYO •  •

Barton Creek Cave – En route to Mountain Pine Ridge. Glide through pitch-black cave used by the Mayans in a canoe equipped with powerful spotlights.

Cahal Pech (Place of the Ticks) – Mayan site up the hill  from San Ignacio Hotel. Museum & visitor Center with artifacts. Open Tues - Sat 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 noon & 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Sun 9:00a.m. - 12:00 noon, phone: 824-4236.

Caracol (The Snail) – South of San Ignacio. Ruins  of a sprawling Maya city. Caracol is the tallest man made structure in the country. Closed if road flooded.

El Pilar Archaeological Reserve – Maya site 12 miles north of San Ignacio, (Neighbouring Village, Bullet Tree Falls) on the Belize-Guatemala border. Explore architectural discoveries.

Green Hills – Butterfly House & Botanic Collection. Mile 8 on the Mountain Pine Ridge Road. Open daily.

Iguana Hatchery – San Ignacio Resort Hotel grounds. Guided nature walks to hatchery, phone: 824-2034. Open daily. Kayaking – Cayo District. Glide through shimmering emerald waters. Kayaking on the Macal and Mopan rivers. Pacbitun – Mayan ceremonial center in San Antonio Village, South of San Ignacio. Go by horseback or by foot.

Rio Frio Cave – Mountain Pine Ridge. Spectacular cave half-mile long with huge boulders. Massive stalactites hang down from the ceiling in this otherworldly cave.

Rio On Pools – Mile 18.5 on the Mountain Pine Ridge Road. A series of mini-pools which create a series of falls among huge boulders. The topmost pool is a popular swimming hole.

Thousand Foot Fall – Mile 13.9 on the Mountain Pine Ridge Road Previously, known as Hidden Valley Falls. Water Cascade over two steep ledges. Local crafts in gift shop.

Xunantunich (Maiden of the Rock) – Near western border at San Jose Succotz. Reached by hand-cranked car ferry across Mopan River. Major Mayan site. Mon.-Fri. 8:00 -5:00, Sat.-Sun. 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

Yalbac – Mayan site in the Yalbac Hills, northeast of San Ignacio. Hike and explore the ruins.
